WALT..Write descriptively using a range of language features. Throughout the year we've been trying to add descriptive words in our stories we have been writing .What I found hard was thinking about the descriptive words to apply in my story. Maybe next time I will add more figurative language and think more about adding descriptive words.
The six lucky birds
I was walking through the woods all alone. I was feeling dizzy and tired I was thinking to myself ¨ how could this happen I was so hyped up just before¨ I started closing my eyes.
When I awoke I found myself lying in an old cottage. I got up and saw an old lady sitting next to me.She said ¨ it will be ok¨ I repeated what she said in my head and tried to keep myself calm .The lady went to the kitchen to get something from the kettle. She came back and told me to drink it, after I drank it I felt light headed and tired I tried to say to the old lady ¨what did you just give me?¨ but before I could say my last word I zapped out.
After I woke again I found myself back at my house,I thought to myself ¨how did I get here?¨ I got up and saw a cage of birds there was a note saying ¨ do not open¨. I was wondering why so I decided to open it, when I opened it I felt a little light headed. I looked around and saw myself going higher and higher into the air I thought that I was losing my mind I tried pinching myself to see if this was a dream and it wasn't I was freaking out I didn't know what to do.
After five minutes of standing around or should I saw floating I calmed down and tried to fly. I started getting the hang of it, and I went and flew to the radio and played I'm like a bird. I flew about and tried to find the birds they were still in the big, sunny grand hall I set them free in. I tried to calm the birds down they finally calmed themselves. After I calmed them down I went and put them in the huge gold cage I found them in.I counted up all the birds and there were six white doves I called them my six lucky birds, wondering why because they gave me the ability to fly I think but sometimes I still wonder how I ended up in all these strange places, and how the birds got in my house.

ReplyDeleteHey Atalina,
ReplyDeleteThis is Jade C from the Summer Learning Journey 2017-2018. I will be blogging with you this summer! I hope you are having a wonderful time with your friends and your family!
This story was really interesting for me to read as you have included a variety of language features such as onomatopoeia "She zapped...", adjectives "six white doves", and questions to get people thinking with you as well "How did I get here?" I felt like I was actually in the story and feeling the same confused feeling with the character. You have amazing writing skills Atalina :)
